Looking for more info on the solar battery rebates?

What is the Government rebate?

Both the Federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program and the WA Residential Battery Scheme start on July 1 2025. The goal of these initiatives is to increase the uptake of solar batteries across Australia and reduce the reliance on non-renewable energy sources.

How much can I get?

Eligible Synergy customers can receive up to $1,300 ($130 per kWh), while Horizon Power customers may be eligible for up to $3,800 ($380 per kWh) in battery rebates.

How does it work?

Homeowners could access up to $5,000 (Synergy) or $7,500 (Horizon Power) in total support towards a 10kWh solar battery installation in the first year. Batteries with a capacity of 10kWh or above, that are on the approved equipment list (subject to the Government), are eligible for the maximum WA Rebate of $1,300 (synergy customers) or $3,800 (Horizon Power customers).

Can I get both at once?

Yes! You can! Both Federal and State-based initiatives can be stacked together, further reducing the costs involved. Solar batteries can be purchased now and claimed later.
