Nathan Rainey

Energy Division Manager

Nathan Rainey began his career in the electrical industry in 1998 as an apprentice, becoming a qualified electrician in 2002. Over the years, he transitioned into the renewables sector, focusing on sustainability and energy efficiency within the electrical field.

In 2007, Nathan became a licensed Electrical Contractor, specializing in solar panel installations, both on and off the grid, as well as energy-efficient products such as voltage optimization and power factor correction units. His work spans across the state, and he has contributed to some of Western Australia’s most iconic projects. To date, Nathan has installed or supervised the installation of more than 8,000 residential and commercial solar systems.

In 2019, Nathan transitioned to leadership roles in the private sector, taking on General and Operations Management responsibilities while continuing his work as an Electrical Contractor. His expertise spans Solar, Battery, EV charging, and LED lighting projects, managing electrical staff and sub-contractor relationships across Australia and New Zealand.

Joining Ford & Doonan in July 2024 as Energy Division Manager, Nathan is committed to driving the growth of Solar, Battery, EV charging, and energy products, further building on Ford & Doonan’s 40-year legacy in the air-conditioning industry throughout Western Australia.
